Charles Colizza Group mettant en vedette Billy Drewes
Biographie
Né à Montréal en 1994, gagnant de la Oscar Peterson Jazz Competition, Charles Colizza est un guitariste et compositeur résidant actuellement à New York. Établi dans la Grosse Pomme depuis 2018, il a enregistré aux côtés du saxophoniste Billy Drewes et a performé au FIJM 2018, Blue Note NYC, The Bitter End, Upstairs et Williamsburg Music Center etc. Il termine présentement sa Maîtrise à la New York University en Performance Instrumentale Jazz.
Les diverses sonorités de son instrument s’étendent au jazz moderne avec des injections d’Avant-Garde et d’improvisation libre. En 2019, il enregistre au Dolan Studios, à Manhattan, son tout premier album intitulé Hug The Devil avec son quintet New-Yorkais formé des musiciens Billy Drewes, Jake d’Ambra, Nick Panoutsos et Lukas Akintaya ainsi que l’ingénieur de son Tyler McDiarmid.
